Through our award-winning Omino Lamp and the desire to create two concepts resembling giant human silhouette sculptures, we propose two distinct designs: Omino Gigantic-LOVE and Omino Gigante-Ballerina.
Omino Gigantic-LOVE represents the evolution of parenthood and childhood, illustrating the separation into individuals while maintaining the unbreakable bond of generations through both biological and metaphorical umbilical cords. This concept celebrates the enduring connection between generations.
Omino Gigante-Ballerina is inspired by the classic American movie "Singing in the Rain" (1952) featuring Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds. This design celebrates the art of dancing, capturing movement and dynamism through various durations of time and weather. The sculpture embodies the fluidity and grace of dance.
Both sculptural installations are exercises in scaling down human forms into smaller entities compared to their inspirational sources. They will be finished with corten steel, a material that undergoes a process of oxidation over time. This choice of material serves as a metaphor for the evolution of human beings and our activities and interests as time progresses.
