MDW 2024 Supedesign Show- ONE 4 ALL by Creazione SUGO x Concepticon

Creazione SUGO and Concepticon converge within a landscape where design abandons the rigidity of typology and begins to behave more like a living ecosystem. Conceived by Kevin Chu and Andrea Cingoli, the installation unfolds as a speculative terrain—an artificial habitat inspired by the silent industry of insects and the fragile equilibrium between decay and regeneration. Here, dry skeletal trunks coexist with living vegetation, forming a poetic tension between the inert and the vital, between recycling and rebirth.

At the center of this narrative are two objects that blur the boundary between organism and artifact.

The STICK INSECT lamp inhabits space less as a conventional lighting device and more as a transient creature. Its elongated, articulated form evokes the quiet camouflage of the phasmid, appearing to rest, climb, or hover depending on how it is positioned. It can inhabit walls, descend from ceilings, or emerge from the floor—each placement altering its perceived behaviour within the environment. Rather than merely illuminating a room, the object introduces movement, as if a living presence had quietly entered the architecture.

OLEG, by contrast, proposes a different form of adaptability—one rooted in aggregation and structural transformation. Its modular geometry allows the object to evolve continuously, assembling itself into bookshelves, tables, coat racks, sculptural partitions, or even luminous structures. Freed from a fixed function, OLEG becomes a toolkit for spatial authorship, granting users the possibility to compose their own functional landscapes.

For the Superdesign Show 2024, these two systems are placed within a central island installation that evokes a suspended continuum—an environment where objects seem to exist outside conventional coordinates of time and scale. The structure suggests an infinite spatial loop, reflecting the aggregations of OLEG and the wandering presence of the STICK INSECT within a universe where function dissolves into possibility.

Titled ONE 4 ALL, the installation resonates with the exhibition’s theme, Thinking Different: Everything | Everyone | Everywhere. It challenges the rigid classifications that traditionally separate furniture, lighting, sculpture, and architecture. Instead, it proposes a more fluid condition: objects that adapt, mutate, and coexist—much like the living systems that inspired them.
