Matsuhisa Nobu Restaurant
FLIES
Limassol, Cyprus

FLY with Robert DeNiro and Matsuhisa NOBU at Cyprus
Following the success of FLY at Maison & Objet 2019 in Paris, Creazione SUGO was invited by the Amara Hotel Group to feature the lamp in the entrance sequence of Matsuhisa Nobu Limassol—a restaurant born from the collaboration between Robert De Niro and Nobu Matsuhisa.
Sixty FLY lamps were suspended within a glass podium leading to the restaurant. Reflections on all four sides multiply the installation, creating the illusion of an infinite swarm of butterflies hovering overhead—a subtle nod to the butterfly as a symbol of good fortune in Japanese culture.
Unexpectedly, the luminous cluster became such a visual magnet that many visitors mistook it for the hotel’s main entrance. In the end, the installation quietly assumed the role of protagonist—perhaps the most fitting kind of lucky charm.
