FOGLIA—the Italian word for leaf—is more than an illumination sculpture: it is an invitation to become the architect of your own space. Inspired by the intricate geometry of nature, FOGLIA incorporates magnetically interchangeable air-purification screens, allowing endless creative configurations. With every re-composition, the piece transforms, breathing new life into its surroundings.

FOGLIA marks the very first creation of Creazione SUGO, a milestone in our design journey. Its origin reaches back over a decade, to a moment when founder Kevin Chu, while wandering through the lush landscapes of central Thailand, became mesmerized by the surreal metamorphosis of colors shimmering across a banana plant beneath shifting light. That fleeting vision of form and luminosity sowed the seed of FOGLIA, which first came to life in 2011.

Years of refinement followed, culminating in 2018 with the unveiling of a groundbreaking innovation: the world’s first magnetic interchangeable acrylic screen system, meticulously engineered in Creazione SUGO’s Italian laboratory. This invention established FOGLIA as a true icon of customization in lighting, sculpture, and design.

Among its most celebrated iterations is the LIBELLULA limited edition, inspired by the ethereal lattice of a dragonfly’s wing. Each acrylic screen is laser-engraved in a painstaking three-hour process, translating complex CAD geometries into delicate patterns that capture and refract light. The result is a glowing apparition—an intricate veil of radiance that appears to hover, weightless, in space, simultaneously commanding attention and harmonizing with its environment.

For 2025, a special chrome-plated edition has emerged: an audacious fusion of oriental cyberpunk aesthetics and the neon dreamscapes of Disney’s Tron. Every metal surface gleams with a mirror finish, while the lamp itself becomes alive to the touch—activated by a single gesture, its brightness deepening and softening through an entirely new progressive dimming system conceived exclusively for Creazione SUGO.

To celebrate this creation, a cinematic video was produced, weaving imagery of cybernetic futures with ancient oriental reveries—a rare tribute to a sculpture that is both artifact and vision. The FOGLIA LIBELLULA Chrome Edition is available only by personal request to Kevin Chu, with each piece handcrafted in Italy and delivered within sixteen weeks. A true collector’s treasure, it embodies the synthesis of craftsmanship, technology, and poetry in light.
