Kinetic Light Installation
Hong Kong | Germany

Many people dream of flight—of escaping gravity and the conventions that anchor objects to the ground. This desire inspired FLY, a work conceived to challenge the static nature of space. Its air-purifying wings introduce movement and lightness into interiors, transforming architecture into something almost alive.

Since its debut at Maison & Objet in 2019, FLY brought global attention to Creazione SUGO, culminating in the German Design Award – Iconic Design 2020, one of the highest recognitions in the field.

Yet the project evolved from a simple question posed by my son, Leonardo: “Daddy, why doesn’t FLY actually fly?”
The answer arrived unexpectedly through a collaboration with the German startup Compactive, whose patented thermal-dynamic technology uses heat to gently bend materials. After nearly a year of experimentation, FLY’IN emerged.

The openings within the larger wings are not purely aesthetic; they are engineered to generate a subtle flapping motion inspired by nature. The result is the first kinetic installation in the Creazione SUGO family—an artwork that breathes, moves, and alters the atmosphere of its surroundings.

The motion also enhances the effect of our NASA-endorsed photocatalytic purification technology, capable of neutralizing viruses, bacteria, and pollutants using only natural light and circulating air. Under normal maintenance, the system remains active for over five years.

In a world still marked by conflict—such as the war in Ukraine—FLY’IN is dedicated to those who continue to long for freedom.

FLY’IN is conceived exclusively for large-scale commercial installations. Each installation is overseen by trained technicians and the founder of Creazione SUGO.

Kevin Chu – Videography Services

Kevin Chu is a self-taught videographer who has been researching filming techniques, cinematography, and video technology since 2019. Unlike many designers, he personally produces all video content for his own projects, driven by a desire to maintain complete creative control and accurately communicate his design vision.

Specialising in short-form films of up to five minutes, Kevin combines his expertise as a qualified architect and award-winning designer with advanced videography skills. His background allows him to understand spatial composition, lighting, form, and architectural storytelling, giving him a unique advantage when filming design, architecture, art, and product-related content.

Passionate about emerging technologies, Kevin utilizes state-of-the-art filming equipment selected for both image quality and mobility. His approach prioritises capturing the strongest possible content efficiently, ensuring every opportunity contributes to the final narrative.

Over the years, his videos have supported projects that have received internationally recognised accolades, including the Red Dot Design Award, A’ Design Award, and Archiproducts Design Award. He has also collaborated with artists, designers, and companies worldwide to create compelling visual content.

In 2023, while working on a project with Warner Bros. Discovery, Kevin had the opportunity to learn directly from professional film crews, further expanding his expertise in large-scale productions. Footage he personally directed and filmed contributed to a campaign that helped Warner Bros. Discovery and TCL Electronics China secure the Red Dot Award for Brands & Communication Design.

A licensed and experienced drone pilot, Kevin offers a complete videography service that includes concept development, scripting, filming, music composition, drone operations, post-production editing, and, where required, award submission support. He works closely with clients to deliver distinctive, engaging, and highly effective visual stories.

Kevin welcomes collaborations with individuals, brands, artists, and organisations seeking creative, design-focused video content with a strong narrative and professional execution.
