Foreigner Series is a suite of five paintings conceived during my first year in Beijing, a period marked by bewilderment and quiet inner conflict. Each canvas carries its own geometric language, yet the works are designed to be assembled and rearranged in countless configurations, mirroring the instability of belonging to a place that felt both strangely familiar and profoundly foreign.

Across the surfaces, lines wander, intersect, and fracture without clear destination. They trace a state of disorientation—an attempt to navigate identity, culture, and direction within a city that echoed fragments of my own heritage while resisting complete understanding.

The series asks to be experienced as a collective field rather than as isolated works. Only together do they reveal the fragmented psychology of that moment: a search for orientation, suspended between curiosity, unease, and the quiet persistence of finding one’s place.
